Damaged Amtico flooring

We’ve just moved into to a house with amtico flooring in the hall and kitchen but one of the tiles has been damaged before we moved in - massive gouge out of the tile.

How can we repair this?

When I had my Amtico floor laid, I had some flooring left over, which we kept because the fitter said If the floor gets damaged it can be replaced. But I think it’s a specialist job, and requires spare tile/strip.

Have you contacted amtico? I know someone who got theirs repaired after 25 years and I couldn’t tell which bit had been replaced.

Contact a specialist Amtico fitter, they will be able to replace the damaged tile.

Our fitter left us with an extra box of our Amtico flooring planks so that we would have colour matched spares in case of any repairs. Have the vendors left any spare tiles for you?

If you've had Amtico repaired/replaced, can I ask if it was glued down or loose lay? And if it was glued, they could still repair?

@QuantumWeatherButterfly when mine was laid recently the fitter told me that they use a special dye in the glue so that they can identify whether or not it was laid by a trained amtico fitter, as they won’t take responsibility for future issues unless they’ve fitted it.

So I’m assuming from that, that they could repair/replace glued tiles.

To lift a glued tile the fitter will use a hot air gun to melt the adhesive so the tile can be pulled up and replaced
