Toy storage in shared living space

I am after some ideas for toy storage in a large open plan kitchen/family room. As it is also an adult area I would rather get something that isn't child specific and avoid melamine flat pack from ikea or gltc etc in favour of say a wicker chest or something a bit more solid. It is quite a modern room so something more contemporary rather than rustic. Has anyone got any ideas of what shops to look at or bits of furniture that might work?

I like these www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/kolbjoern-cabinet-in-outdoor-green-00450347/ but I must say kallax is great for toy storage... Or the glass fronted hemnes (?) cabinets are nice too

I’d agree with IKEA kallax even though you said no IKEA flat pack. You can have put baskets on the shelves, have doors etc
It just works.

What about Cox & Cox? They do a wicker storage chest amongst lots of other furniture.

Honestly you can look for something else but there is a reason 99% of parents have ikea Kallax units. They are king when it comes to toy storage.

Large wicker hamper?
I was going to suggest Ikea Trofast.

You have DC. It's ok to have DC stuff.

We have a toy box from the Cotswold Furniture Co which is probably what you have in mind. That said, kallax is king for toy storage.

big hamper/trunk

Another one that is suggesting Kallax here. They're inoffensive to look at, and you can get some lovely storage boxes for them that look more 'grown up' - GNABBAS, BRANÄS, BULLIG, KNIPSA etc. Even the DRONAS boxes have some nice plain/non kiddy looking patterns now. And having separate storage for different toys (ie lego in one, cars in another, crafts in another) makes then easier to find and easy for the kids to put away in some civilised order, much better than a single trunk or basket.
