Everything looks drab / dirty - choosing new paint colours

Morning all,

Still on my hallway paint dilemma. So my walls are covered in sample pots which resemble Josephs's technicolor dreamcoat.

My hallway is west, with minimum natural light coming from the hall door (bungalow). I have spotlights (3000 lumens) which come on automatically so it's not a dark space but no natural light. Doors are light oak with an autumn oak wooden floor.

I know I want the far end of the hallway to be a different colour to the narrow corridor and would like the colours to "flow" with the remainder of the bungalow. My preference is for a green end wall - at the moment I really like Dulux Guilded Green - I sampled F&B Green Ground and it looked luminous green, French Gray felt a bit "meh" - I also like Green Smoke but I am having that as the bottom run of my kitchen cupboards so wondered if I would have too much of one colour in the house! Also tried Dulux Willow tree which again looked quite luminous!

I think I am struggling with the neutral to paint the corridor with - I've dried F&B off white (looked drab and dirty), Dulux Almond White (again looked drab). At this stage Magnolia seems to be winning out. I was trying to avoid the starkness of a pure bright white.

Any other ideas... I am trying to avoid painting the hall all white! I also wanted it to feel cohesive to the rest of the house - other rooms are a mix of deeper blues and greens with white as a base.

We've got something similar. The wider part of the hallway is painted bolingdon green by the little greene company and the rest is dulux timeless.
I also have plants by the green parts which seem to tie ii all in nicely together.

was also going to suggest dulux timeless- white with very slight green undertone.

Thanks both, funnily enough have Timeless left from another room and haven’t tried it. Think I’ve been so focussed on something creamier. Will get another test going! Also going to try the Little Greene colour too. Thank you!

Dulux Jasmine white has a creamier tone, also mossy stone is a neutral-ish green.

Try Farrow & Ball White Tie if you want a neutral but not drab cream.

Dulux Apple White is really nice, white with a hint of green in it, been real happy with this colour.

You could try Little Green “aquamarine” colour scale - so maybe aquamarine pale on the main walls and aquamarine mid for the darker bit? If too fresh, then Acorn & Acorn Mid are sage greens you could do the same thing with.

Have a look at the Dulux Heritage palette, there are some lovely green tones on there such as Green Slate.

The chart is arranged in columns and at the bottom of each column is the recommended neutral shade for that colour group. So for Green Slate, it would be China White

We are using this approach for our redecoration and it's working well so far!
