What colour would you paint the walls/ use as 'accent' colours?

I’m not sure where to start. I like scandi/ modern style, but not big colour statements etc.

It's a new house and I need to start decorating (moved last year), but haven’t been able to do much for obvious reasons.

The colours I have to work around (from fixtures and fittings etc) are:

Matt black and silver chrome (wood burner that was already here)
Brushed chrome window fittings
Warm wood - floors and doors/ frames etc
White window surrounds (wood).

Colours in the items I have:

White wood and real (brown) wood furniture
Chrome and white lights (IKEA)
Beige sofas (can’t afford to change as yet)
A dark red leather recliner (don’t have to keep in this room).

I don’t know what colour to paint the walls or buy for curtains or cushions.

I like warm colour schemes. Everything is neutral ish at the moment, erring on boring, yet I never find scandi style boring.

Please help!!!

Scandinavian style is often built around white walls. You add colour and texture with beautiful textiles....throws and cushions. Colours you do add should be natural....and not too strong. Funnily enough, most Scandi interiors which really work are cooler and made up of blues/greys with cream/white and touches of green.

The feeling of warmth comes from texture and lighting rather than warm colours like reds or oranges.

I’d have a look at various off-whites. Rustoleum do a great one called Steamed Milk.

As @FortunesFave said, scandi isn’t really about colour. Something like Weathered Plank by Valspar would work well but isn’t really “colour”.

Ignoring Scandi, a terracotta could work well.

Thank you. I was looking at white/ off white walls, but worried it’d get too plain. There’s lots of natural wood, which helps.

I wonder if teal/ duck egg accents would look nice? Not sure how it’d work with beige sofas.

I'm in the middle of a similar dilemma - decorators are starting plastering etc this week and I still haven't decided on colours for the living/dining room and hall/landing! I'm veering between a 'warm' neutral, but cant seem to find one I like, and an off-white (Dilux Timeless) with a feature wall (wallpaper) in the dining room. Furniture is oak. Like you, op, I'm worried a shade of white for walls downstairs might look too plain. I really need to decide quickly!

A very pale duck egg type blue would fit the scandi vibe and your furniture, but it's not as warm.

White is used a lot in scandi interiors. For warmth, a natural plaster type colour can look really good. There are also some lovely muted blush type tones which are very nice to live with.

Teal/duck egg would be lovely. You can have a third colour, used more sparingly such as the muted blush which the above poster mentioned. You just have it in percentages....50% your main colour, 30 the next and 20 the blush.
