Paint recommendations for downstairs loo

West facing.

Small - just a white loo and basin with natural pal stone tiles but the water splashes on the plasterboard walls currently which are painted in light grey matt emulsion. They show every splash and look mottled.

Ideally, I'd like a neutral light greige that can be sponged. I clean wellies/walking boots/cats dishes in the basin so it can get dirty.

Sorry, the natural stone tiles are floor tiles - the walls arent tiled, hence the issue.

Our downstairs loo was recently repainted in eggshell - so much better than the previous emulsion which showed every mark and splash.

Eggshell is sheeny though so does show up any bumps in the plaster.

For a big range of neutrals I would have a look at Paint & Paper Library. Not the cheapest but then it’s a small room right?

West facing tends to make colours look yellower so bear that in mind, eg an off white may end up looking creamy, a beige could look tan, etc. Go cooler.

Great. Thanks. Yes, its currently painted Dulux Goose Down, so looks lilac until the sun hits it when it turns a lovely greige. It's mostly lilac though so I'd like to avoid that in future. I might try F&B Ammonite as I have that upstairs in North facing rooms and it looks beautiful.

I’d do a splash a kitten in the same tiles as the floor.

Jesus, autocorrect! Grin
splashback

Grin I thought for a second that Dulux had released a new paint colour so googled 'splash a kitten'

Problem is, water gets everywhere due to high water pressure and cleaning of things.

I think I'll go with a wipeable eggshell finish all over or a paint that's specifically designed for bathrooms.

Re colour, I'm going to do lots of paint tester A4 sheets and leave them up on the walls for a week or so to gauge their true colour throughout the day.
