Fake log burner

I'm considering having a false chimney breast with electric log burner (real one not an optionSad). Anyone got one they would recommend? I'm hesitant as I've not seen one working in a real home and worried it will look naff and/or not replicate the cosy feel of a real fire. Any thoughts (good or bad) appreciated. Thinking this sort of style and room is spacious rectangle in a new-build.

I asked the same question a few days ago, I did get a response to say they look a lot better than electric fires of old and that they're used on Emmerdale in the pub if you want to try and catch it in action!
There was a link to a you tube video too for a brand who do them. I'll see if I can find it.

I recommend the Dimpkex Opti myst range. It's water vapour lit in such a way that they really look like flames. It doesn't get hot but there is a fan heater at the bottom you can turn on.

My PIL have always had log burners but couldn’t get one into their new home so fitted 2 electric ones, one in the sitting room and one in the kitchen/dining room. They look amazing. I wasn’t sure when they first went in, but as soon as the (fake) flues were fitted they looked just like the real thing.

I have yet seen them IRL (covid!) but to me the most important thing is to fit a flue, even if you only see a tiny bit of it.

I've just inherited a fake gas log burner. I'd actually thought it was real when I first viewed the house. It's currently disconnected and I'm having a job finding someone who'll come and look at it for me
However my quote for 3,500 to have a real one fitted has encouraged me to try to get this one going

I have a real log burner and also a gas log burner. I prefer the gas one. It looks almost the same but with no mess or sweeping and instant heat.
