Which colour paint/wallpaper?

What colour would you paint the walls of this tiny downstairs toilet? My dh wants to keep it white as there is so much going on already but I feel that such a small space could be used for being bold. What would you do?

I would have to have a colour as the white tiles seem not quite white in your photo.
I’m veering towards a darkish green but that’s because I’m about to buy a house with similar and I’m going for green accents throughout the ground floor.
I don't think it matters if it’s dark in a small toilet , you’re not spending long there.
I think a paper might be too busy with those tiles on the floor

If you do dark, something like dark navy then you need good mirrors and frames on the wall. Google some images and copy something.

Have a look at Emma J Shipley wallpaper, her stuff looks glorious in small spaces! But then I’d decorate the whole house with her designs if DH would let me!

Thanks guys, some great ideas. I'm already having tile regret as I didn't realise these tiles were 'distressed' until the builder had fitted them. Honestly making so many decisions at the moment is sending me a bit mad!

It looks fab. I love the floor tiles. I would go dark (or perhaps jewel coloured like a peacock blue or green) too but you need to look at lighting and whether it's too late if you need to add more?

Not sure about a dark muddy green. Can make the complexion look a bit unwell . Dark grey would work, and monochrome always seems to appeal to men so you might have more luck persuading your DH.

Houzz always has great pics

I'm not very good at this but a rich deep red wine colour might look lovely.

Those tiles are new??? Wow, if they are supposed to look like that then I'd go for a similar vibe for the rest of the room so it looks meant. Otherwise I'm really sorry but they just look grubby... Blush

I think I'd change the floor and paper the walls in something really fun and outrageous.

Those tiles have that distressed look My daughter has them. I found an image on pinterest where they’ve used grey with them, but I think part of the problem is the tiles are quite white beside them. Would grey tone them down. I know mn hates grey but 💁🏼‍♀️

I love the tiles! Dark green or pale pink would look stunning

I’d go for a very dark colour, Little Greene “Obsidian” (dark green), F&B “brassica” of “railings”.

renovationfatigue · 13/02/2021 18:12

Thank you guys. Those saying you love them have made me feel so much better. I was ready to rip them up this morning but my dh has made me keep them for a year as he thinks they'll grow on me! I was thinking a dark blue or green would look good so will check out the suggestions.

Definitely go dark. Railings would look amazing with that floor. The tiles are beautiful.
I've just painted my tiny downstairs toilet in Hague Blue and I'm really pleased with it. Be brave and go dark!

I would use the dark colour in the tiles - black if it’s black or charcoal if it’s charcoal (can’t quite tell from the photo). Would def not go white as there are already several different shades of white in the room. I think it needs a unifying colour to tie the floor tiles into the rest of the room.
