Floor tiles

I'm about to buy porcelain floor tiles for our new kitchen renovation. I like the concrete look and have some samples of large grey tiles. My favourite tile is quite rough texture and I'm concerned it will be difficult to mop and will trap dirt. It's not nice texture to walk on in socks or bare feet.
There's a smooth (not glossy) one but it's more greige and dull colour. It almost looks grubby already. But maybe that's ideal so I won't get annoyed by it noticeably being dirty?

Anyone have any floor tile texture knowledge please?

I think textured ones are a good idea in the kitchen as they're less slippy if there are any splashes or spills.

Saying that I personally wouldn't ones that show the dirt as I'm not one for daily floor mopping!

Ours are a textured slate effect so best of both worlds as they dont show the dirt.

I have smooth ones and they're an absolute death trap when wet

Thanks.
Maybe I'll practice with a mop and see how the rough one cleans up!

Could you coat the tiles with a clear, matt (not glossy) varnish? That way you can have a lovely clean floor but not an ice rinkGrin! Would this be a suitable solution?

A friend has the gritty textured ones and says they are a nightmare to keep clean. Hers are more of a cream colour though so perhaps dirt is more obvious.

Smooth not glossy is ok IMO, yes you will need to be careful when the floor is wet but that’s not that often

The best option is a smooth but slightly wavy surface iykwim - so not bumpy or rough but not completely flat.
