The best pillows EVER!

Where can I buy them?

I had cheap ikea ones when renting and they were flat and rubbish. I searched online and some Silent Night ones came out on top with stellar reviews online. I realise this isn't an expensive brand by any means, but they were flat after a couple of weeks and I need to replace them again. When I bought my mattress I went for the matching pillows too. They were £60 per pillow for gel filled ones. They're quite comfy but once a pillowcase is stretched over them they are rock hard.

I don't like feather, have never tried down and would probably go for synthetic. Can anyone recommend some comfy, fluffy, hotel-like pillows please?

Bonus points if you can send me the links to them 🙏

Dunlopillo. They are the pillow of choice in my family.

Cost a bomb but build to last. We all have them.

HomerRoberts · 29/11/2020 18:37

I’d like to know too! A bit disappointed with the current ones I got from John Lewis, they’re just not plump enough.
I hate pillows that go completely flat in the middle when you put your head on, I like a pillow to make it feel like my head is floating on a cloud!

Twinkie01 · 29/11/2020 18:37

Secret Linen Company have amazing pillows that staff puffy and last. They also come with a pillow cover so you don't get nasty sharp bits of feather poking through.

Hayeahnobut · 29/11/2020 18:43

Dunlopillo got bought out a few years ago, and their quality went downhill at that point.

It sounds obvious but have you tried a bigger pillowcase with the gel pillow? I have a latex pillow and it needs a larger Oxford pillowcase or it goes too firm.

Winterfairy23 · 29/11/2020 18:56

@Hayeahnobut I have a few larger pillow cases and it really does help but I'm still chasing the perfect cloud pillow!

I thought about trying John Lewis but wasn't sure if they'd be any good!

I hate pillows. Buy new ones and they are lovely for a week and then go flat or lumpy. Of course I don't help matters by not plumping them daily and by using my bed as a sofa when I'm home so they get very squished.

Trying2Heal · 29/11/2020 19:11

@Winterfairy23. What made you decide to opt for cheap pillows when renting? Or do you mean they came with the house/flat?

Trying2Heal · 29/11/2020 19:12

I bought some pillows described as "box pillows" from TKMaxx @ £20 for the pair. I think this was reduced from £50. They are lovely. Firm but bouncy.

Winterfairy23 · 29/11/2020 19:41

@Trying2Heal my rent was double what my mortgage now costs so I didn't have much disposable income for things like that. I thought ikea pillows would be reasonable quality because it's a big brand but also reasonably priced. They went flat really quickly though!

Yes to the panda memory foam ones, they’re good.

twoglassesofprosecco · 29/11/2020 19:44

I've bought them from Richard Haworth (or Hayworth?) a company that sells to hotel chains. Still all really fat and fluffy. Not expensive.

Sirrah · 30/11/2020 10:27

I've got these, they've stayed bouncy much longer than any other pillows I've bought, and will buy them again when I need to replace!

Well my new soak and sleep pillows arrived today. They're so fluffy. Got a good deal in the black Friday thing so paid forty quid for 4 pack. Love them so far. Ds has just been doing 'trust falls' onto them on my bedGrin

TerribleCustomerCervix · 07/12/2020 21:25

Whatever you go with, make sure you buy some decent pillow protectors!

They massively extend the life of your pillows, especially if you share a bed with a man and the disgusting brown juice that they inexplicably leak from their faces all night.

Chronicallymothering · 07/12/2020 21:30

We just bought these- completely epic and match the sleeping on a cloud description.

I bought some from M&S a while ago jsut because they were on sale and seemed cheap. They've seemed to last great and not went flat or lumpy.. I don't even know what they're filled with.. I will see if I can search my emails..

livingthegoodlife · 10/12/2020 14:44

I tried the Dorma "down like" pillows from Dunelm £25 each - soooo hard. Horrible.

Then tried m&s bounce back pillows made with microfiber filling. Only £6.50 for 2! Bargain. Soft and squishy. Only had 2 months but seem pretty good. Worth a try?

MissPollyPops · 10/12/2020 15:06

Bounce back! From M&S. That's the ones I was talking about. They've lasted well.

MrDarcysMa · 13/12/2020 12:20

casper originals, recommended by a friend and they are great. They're not cheap but matressonline site do them heavily discounted.
