Advice needed please - installer damaged new shutter

Hello all
Would like some advice please.
We have just had some new shutters installed which look great.
However, when the owner of the company was installing in of the shutters, his drill slipped and it chipped the frame of the shutter.
It is in the bottom part of the frame and is on the side you wouldn’t see. He knew he had done it but didn’t tell me! He only mentioned when I pointed it out!
He filled it with caulk and said he makes no difference to the functionality but the issue is I know it’s there now and also where he has drilled is off centre.
I’m sure most people wouldn’t care but I have extreme OCD and I can’t stop thinning about it.
I waited 12 weeks for these shutters and it’s just disappointing they are not ‘perfect’
I know it would cause more work to uninstall the blind, touch up the decoration and then reinstall not to mention waiting another 12 weeks.
I just wanted some advice, should I say something else about it (I have only paid the deposit so far) or just (try) to forget about it?!

I think we need a photo before this can go any further...

Ask them to replace or give you a big discount as they are not perfect.

For some reason he drilled right on the edge whereas all the others were drilled in the middle

For how much shutters cost, I wouldn't accept anything less than perfect personally. Not matter how big or small the damage I would expect it to be rectified 🙂

I really do understand the stress it causes when things aren't perfect, having had a lot of work done to various standards. But I think this issue here is what can be done about it. It's not on the outside edge as I understand it, so you have to look for it? It's not a functional defect?

Maybe this is the time to accept none of us are perfect and it's 'good enough'?

We have had lots of work done to our new property and it has been very stressful. We have had issues with 2 sets of built in wardrobes - the second of which was rectified by the company with no issue.
I know I have very high standards and I am a perfectionist but it does bother me when things aren’t 100% right.
I am more annoyed that the installer made the mistake but still j stalled and dint think to mention until I spotted it!
My experiences with tradesman is that if it’s installed it’s fine and to hell with any damage they cause to the actual object or anything else.
We had new radiators installed and the engineer out a huge deep scratch in our new oiled wooden floors which we have had to re-sand.
It’s really annoying

I’m a massive fuss pot so I appreciate where you’re coming from. Even though it’s not seen, it’s knowing it’s not 100% perfect. I’ve had to accept that rarely, are things 100% perfect. And I’m getting better at settling for less.
However, if I were happy to accept the damage I would be complaining and pushing for a reduced price.
You could put it to them and say you want it replaced or discounted. It may help you make a decision.
