Hi all, trying to buy a blackout blind for my toddler. Very aware of the risks of cords but don't seem to get a clear indication from the websites I'm looking at about what they do to make it safe. Any recommendations? Thank you in advance!

You can buy clips that screw into the window frame and hold the cord in place so kids can’t get their heads in it. Last few blinds I bought came with them, but they’re pennies at the DIY store. Plus most of ours also have a safety release, so the cord comes apart if you put too much weight in on it.

Blocblinds total blackout blinds. Come with a frame and the blinds fit that, no cords at all. Can part pull down too. I have two and they are easy to fit yourself or they do a fit and measure service (or they did pre Covid). www.blocblinds.co.uk or in John Lewis.

Thank you very much! Bloc blinds look fantastic especially how blackout they are, but a bit pricey. Will have a think but thank you for your time in answering, very appreciated

I'd go for perfect fit blackout blinds if you have uPVC windows. Measure up then shop around for the best price. We have the honeycomb ones. They do let a tiny bit of light in round the edges, but not as much as a roller blind.
