Flooring beading dilemna

Hi there, the wooden flooring in our house is really, really old (already here when we moved in years ago) and I really dislike it. The challenge is that we have fitted cupboards and ceiling to floor shelving built in the rooms downstairs (already here when we moved in) which go down to the floor as well as a tiled hearth. I've been told that if we replace the flooring with new wooden flooring, we'll need to add beading at the bottom of these cupboards and around the hearth. Either that or use wood filler (which I've seen this done in a friend's house and I wasn't keen). Has anyone else done this before and can advise if there are ways to achieve a neat finish without the need for beading?

Thanks!

'Karndean' flooring, fits flush underneath the skirting etc it's very slim and harder wearing than laminate.

Thanks! Have heard of Karndean but didn't realise it could sit flush.

We have Amtico which is the same as karndean and we still have beading around the hearth and the front door.

We removed the skirting boards when it was installed, that was no issue. The skirting boards were simply replaced after the installation. But there’s no way to butt the planks up to a fixed edge like the hearth without needing beading.

Karndean can have clear or coloured siluconw to seal the edge. Or you could go for wood effect ceramic tiles. No need for beading.
