Commercial style wallpaper

Anyone know where I can pick up commercial style wallpaper (I think they call it vinyl wall covering?)

It’s basically wallpaper used in hotels/commercial buildings that can be wiped, doesn’t mark, lasts longer.

Want some for my landing & stairs! Preferably gold/metallic & reasonably priced. Tia

On wallpaper direct you can filter by "vinyl"
However this is domestic vinyl and not the commercial stuff that can be priced at £100 a metre!
It will be fine for your needs though

I've hung some Muraspec that seems to be bombproof. But also get something like 100m2 on a roll. If you're looking for durability but also a bit of glam, try looking at a decent, durable trade paint and some glitter.

Thanks SND. That’s exactly what I’m looking for - durable but glam.

Problem I have with paint is it sometimes feels cold & unfinished? Plus I never ever get the colour right. There’s a lot of area to cover so I thought wallpaper would feel more ‘expensive’? Of course, the downside is it’s going to cost more to buy & hang - and harder to change it I mess it up!

What is muraspec?

Just another thought I had, you could use any wallpaper and then put a clear matt varnish over it. Most decorators would know this as "Polyvining" and would use Polyvine, I would use a product called Rocktop from Smith and Rodger.

If you're going to do that i'd say get the best paper your budget can afford, nice and thick. Have a google for "wallpaper symbols explained" they're on the label of each roll. Paste the wall and free match is easiest, straight match is nice and easy too. Always get an extra roll, you can always return it.

Also a good idea if you are going to varnish it is to take a sample of your paper to the decorators merchant and ask them to match 2.5L of their cheapest paint to the main colour of the paper, then work out where the seams land on the wall and put a line of paint on it so if the seams pull over time under the varnish it wont be as noticeable, maybe cut in the top and bottom of the wall too. Especially important with dark papers.

Muraspec is a wallcoverings manufacturer, the stuff i was hanging was 1500mm wide (normal paper is 550mm) and a bit of a pig to be honest.

@SNDDecorating thanks for your advice. I want a sort of goldy metallic paper that is extortionate but I wouldn’t be able to recreate it with paint unfortunately. I think it is around 1500 wide.

I also like the metallic grass cloth/grass weave styles. But again they’re only available in a paper not a vinyl.

The area I have to paper is so vast & double height due to cathedral ceiling, im worried Standard wallpaper will look rubbish with so many joints & drops
