Tall house plant for a dark corner

Hi, I’ve got a lovely dining room in a period house (early Edwardian). It’s painted very dark bottle green and I am looking for a statement plant to add some colour to a corner. This corner is right next to a large north-facing window, so it’ll never get direct sun.

What do you recommend? I was thinking of a large Bird of Paradise perhaps, but I’m not sure the location would suit it.

Any ideas?

Am watching with interest! I need something similar for a very similar sounding room (dark corner, Edwardian dining room, painted dark terracotta ish though not dark green).

Hi, I'm not sure how well a Bird of Paradise will fare in a corner, but I think they don't like direct sunlight? Someone more knowledgeable will hopefully let us know.

Can't comment on the choice but Hortology do very good plants

A fern or an aspidistra.

Aspidistra are bomb-proof so a good option.
Most house plants are understory-of-tropical jugle type plats, so will do well with indirect light.

Aspidistra looks like a good option! Thank you!

My aspidistra does well in a gloomy corner.
