How much gap should I allow between vanity unit and ladder towel radiator

Hi everyone. Getting bathroom refitted. Have allowed 30cm gap between vanity unit and ladder towel radiator somas not to burn my highly expensive beautiful vanity unit, However that means i have to go for a narrow 40cm wide ladder towel radiator which I think will look out of proportion. Do you think 20cm would be ok, it means I can go for 500cm wide ladder radiator.

We're just bumping this thread in case someone has an answer for the OP.

Are there any drawers or cupboards that might clash? 20cm is still a fair gap. Think I had 10 or less between shower enclosure and towel rad in last house. No issue as towels go on the horizontal bits right

Also, I don't think the radiated heat would damage anything? They don't get 'that' hot?

I agree with Zandana they really don't radiate heat so can't imagine it doing any damage. Wish we'd gone for a radiator and a towel rail as our bathroom is fairly big and it really doesn't cut it in the winter.

I'm having a new shower fitted and I've worked out I can fit a narrow tall boy between the shower and towel rail and it hasn't crossed my mind about the heat.

Hi. Thanks for all your replies. Reordered a 500mm ladder stainless steel ladder as the 400mm would have looked utterly out of proportion to the room and would have had to fold towels up too many times to fit. Went for a stainless steal towel radiator as they are meant to radiate more heat rather than chrome or white. We won’t be having any other source of heat in the room. So only 20cm gap but think it should be ok. Lots to think about with a new bathroom!

Think you'll be fine with that. Look at BTU calculators to see if the output of the rad will be sufficient for the room.
