Anyone used tile paint?

We need to titivate an elderly relatives house to sell it, the tiles in the kitchen are patterned, so we wondered about painting them? It doesn't need to be very durable as I'm sure a buyer would rip out and start again but it does need to be easy and look good.
Can anyone recommend best way to do this please?

I did! I used white Ronseal tile paint. I applied it with a small foam roller (it’s like gloss so quite stinky, make sure you’re well ventilated). Exactly the same reasons as you did - wanted to update a house we weren’t going to be spending long in, it really freshened things up especially as we painted the cupboards too.

I've just used tile paint! I had a tiny budget and some time off so figured I could do some of a bathroom renovation myself.

The dated flowery tiles just wouldn't come off - I'd expected to be able to slip a tool behind one and prise it off - and I realised if I used more force I'd need to get a plasterer /tiler in to repair the damage. So I went to tile paint.

The key seems to be in the prep - so it took several days. Definitely not a quick job. Every tile was sanded and cleaned thoroughly several times. Then paint. I used Dulux tile paint and painted with a brush as per instructions but you could see every brush stroke. I switched to a foam roller for coats two and three and the result was good in the end.

I don't trust the paint to "stick" next to the shower so bought twin shower panels from Victorian Plumbing to install on top of existing tiles there.

So, 2x £28 tins of paint plus 2x £180 shower panels is definitely cheaper than a retile and as you're only looking for a speedy update it's a practical solution.
