Hi,
We're temporarily (for two years) moving in a small flat - about 55m2 with one bedroom (plus a living room).
The kids are 1.5 yrs and 5.5 yrs. My partner will not move with us but will visit very frequently (especially now when he can still work from home).
I will be working full time and the kids will be in school/nursery full time but I will still have to do a bit of work in the evening (will also be studying).

I'm having difficulty deciding how to make best use of the rooms.
We need: play area, office area, living room/chill area and sleeping area.
Room 1 (bedroom) is smaller, about 4x4m.
Room 2 (living room) is larger, about 5.5 x 4 m.

The kids will sleep on beds but I will sleep on a futon mattress on the floor which can be moved around.

The "office" will be used mostly in the evenings although if there is another lockdown I will be working from home during daytime. I don't want to mix the office and the sleeping space. If my partner works from home he works Saturday/Sunday, which is also the time when the kids will be at home (if the weather is bad, if not we will be out and about). I suppose a portable "office" would be best but I need a big monitor to work on and that's difficult to move around.
Any advice? If anyone has a similar setup where you combine different spaces, Id love to see photos for inspiration :)

For the sleeping area, could you get a cheap set of bunk beds second hand (try facebook marketplace or gumtree), and then sell them on when you no longer need them? Then if your bed is on the floor, and can be packed away, in the day the extra floor space can be used as a play area (along with the living area).
For the living area, if you placed the monitor on a desk in front of the sofa, it could be used as a TV too. You would have the desk chair in front of the desk when you were working, and then remove it when you wanted to watch tv.
