Furnishing a new build flat - help!

Hi all!

We are in the process of buying a 2 bed new build flat, and I wanted your opinions on how to make the most of the space!

The floor plans are below - we know the basics (bedroom / living area big furniture etc) but I wondered if anyone had any good MUST HAVES to make the most of the space. Or any good space for personalising a new build apartment.

Any advice v welcome Smile

No furniture advice as one person's taste is not another's but if you want to change the colour of the walls, put up wall paper or switch carpet for hard floors or vice versa, now's the time to do it!

Round dining tables are now sociable. Get an extending one so it doesn't take up too much room.

Definitely assess the storage- there never seems to be enough! Often the storage in new build bathrooms is minimal- are they fitting a bathroom cabinet? If not it might be worth putting on your list. Also, where would you put things like your bedding and towels? Ottoman storage beds might be good for things like these.

Thanks all. Storage is exactly our worry, and an ottoman bed is a great idea. Worried about space for a chest of drawers in the master bedroom!

Have mini chests of drawers as bedside tables. Side usable in the lounge should have storage too. Think cube shape rather than table. A coffee table could have storage too.

measure the rooms
note all measurements down.
shelves can make good room dividers with storage between kitchen and sitting area.

ikea is great as you can take the furniture home with you right away.

don't forget plants!

Consider where you would use if you needed to work from home.

Plan storage carefully.
