Dulux Timeless (again) or Jasmine White

I’ve just bought a flat for investment purposes and although it’s less than 10 years old, it needs a bit of TLC with a repaint and freshen up. I want to keep things neutral and the same all the way through - the existing colour, although it doesn’t show it - is a sort of mushroom colour and as the living room is 20’ x 20’ with the only natural light from French doors, I want a shade of white to brighten but not PBW. The whole flat’s lighting is LED down lights too. Any thoughts on Timeless vs Jasmine White vs Orchid White? I don’t want to stray into any of the more expensive paints as I want a colour that is easily accessible if it needs subsequent refreshes! Many thanks. 😊

Another vote for Timeless. It goes with everything. We use it in any space that needs to be light and bright.

Thank you.

It was between timeless and rock salt for our living room and we went with rock salt.

Thanks. Rock salt looks less yellow and paler, without being cold-to me? How would you describe it, if your room is shady?

Flamingolingo · 04/07/2020 19:21

I like rock salt (we have it in our pantry), but it’s very blue/grey rooted and I don’t know about having it in a living space

It’s a very pale grey but looks almost white, when I have the blinds pulled up in the living room. It really brightened up our living room and looks great with sapphire salute that is on our chimney &alcove walls

Interesting colour. Thanks for that.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I've been looking for a suitable white for our kitchen and this helped me to decide on Dulux Timeless, so thank you to OP and everyone who answered!

I just want to ask, if I'm painting the whole room do I still use white ceiling paint on the ceiling?? Or do I do the ceiling in Timeless as well? (we already have satinwood paint for the woodwork so I'll stick with that for doors and skirts) Using the same paint on the ceiling would obviously make the job easier but I want it to look right when finished so if it's best to use the actual ceiling paint, then I will.

I also wondered this.

We did the walls, ceiling and coving in timeless. Looks fine to me 😀 see the pictures I attached above.

They looks like slightly different shades because of the way the light hits it from a different angle, so wouldn't worry too much.

Also if you do different shades, you have to properly cut in and make sure you get a nice straight edge. Slapping it all into the corner and both walls before rolling it out is much easier!

Well if it's going to make the job easier, and still look ok, then it's a yes from me! Thanks @Zandana123
