I am hopeless at decorating - would anyone have advice on how to revamp this boring downstairs loo? Ideally with links Thanks

@LaureBerthaud

And if you want to add wallpaper
I was talking about this one

Following this. Would like ideas for mine too. Even though it’s small I was thinking dark colours too or something fun. Think it’s the only room you can decorate quite differently to the rest of your house.

I’ve just painted my downstairs bathroom in Zeitgeist by Craig and Rose. It is a black/charcoal grey.

I’m using this wallpaper and adding gold candlesticks, gold shelves, candle sconces, bevelled mirrors and I’m training a plant across the ceiling (window at top of room).

I think this is a room to have some real fun with.

This is a very timely thread for me, as I am currently traipsing around all my local tile shops in search of some inspiration for our tiny downstairs toilet.

But it's just a sea of very naice tasteful beige and grey. Everywhere. Grr.

I'm thinking a dark blue theme for ours, but can I find anything?! No!

EmmaStone · 25/06/2020 22:58

We did ours during lockdown too. Was already tongue and grooved by previous owners, we just wallpapered. I had quite a few sample stuck on the wall for a few weeks before deciding. Jungle themes have probably had their day, but I still love it. Like your zebra paper!

Oh sorry the photo doesn't seem to have posted...

I am loving all of these Extravagent Lockdown Loos. They are all great.

Some great ideas in here!

If it was my loo, I would de-clutter by removing the corner stand and all its ornaments, the two items on the window ledge and the cleaning stuff on the floor, leaving just the toilet brush on the floor and your diffuser on the window ledge.

Then I'd paint the walls white and stick something interesting on one of the walls.

OK, it's not very exciting, but hey.

Totally agree with rupster nothing beats white clean lines, and fresh looking and bright, you add colour with accessories, everyone to their own of course

Finally got round to doing this. On the lookout for a new blind but meanwhile, here is a before and after pic

My tiny loo (without window) is decorated with this. I LOVE it.

Should have read the whole thread... Apologies. I LOVE what you have done. A real transformation.

SushiGo · 08/09/2020 20:09

That looks brilliant! I love it.

pearlypidge · 08/09/2020 22:23

@MakeTeaNotWar Yours looks really good! Which I'm very happy about, because...

...I've been following this thread, and your cloakroom is pretty much EXACTLY what we are having done to ours this very week!

Same wallpaper (courtesy of this thread, thank you PPs), similar wall tiles... once it's all finished, which might be a while because the basin we wanted is delayed, I'll post some photos!

MakeTeaNotWar · 08/09/2020 22:41

@pearlypidge great minds! I would love to see how yours turns out as ours still needs the finishing details like a new blind, lampshade etc
