Does anyone have any suggestions for super comfortable fold down beds/futons suitable for everyday sleeping when our baby arrives? Comfort is key! Many thanks

Hideaway Beds do a simple one called Diva. You can use your own mattress.

quizwhitty · 06/05/2020 06:32

Thanks @Mosaic123 it looks like a good possibility.

We're thinking more of something that doesn't need to be attached to the wall.., a futon or similar. Has anyone used a good one?

We have a Relyon sofa bed, which we got from John Lewis in 2001. It’s had periods of being our main bed, as a daily-use spare bed and of bring our main sofa. Still going strong, always been remarkably comfortable.

Thanks @BikeRunSki

If there was a single version that would be great!

Google 'canapé lit' and look at the French options over €600. Parisian appartements are so small that we use them every day. They're actually comfortable as both sofas and beds, and they have a properly thick folding mattress and separate sofa cushions. IKEA ones really aren't comfortable, and if sit on them they'll get a hollow under your arse, and if you sleep on them you'll get a length ways hollow and you'll need a physio.

Sorry, a link would help so you can google if any of the companies ship to the UK. E.g. www.lamaisonduconvertible.fr/canape-convertible/

Haha that Telegraph article is certainly not an endorsement of the Ikea bed! I'll look up the French ones now - great idea!

I've been considering this:
www.ikea.com/gb/en/p/utaker-stackable-bed-pine-00360484/
Thinking I could make it look like a sofa/day bed when not in use as a bed, and that as you could put an actual mattress on it'd hopefully be comfy. There's a imit to mattress depth for the lower bed so it can slot under, but I suppose for the top one you could get a big squidgy mattress.

@wishing3
DOiD you go for it? I was just looking at them this week and also thinking they could be.a good solution...
. That and a loaf day bed but loaf costs 1k .. a bit ridiculous for a day bed even if they are gorgeous

I'm going to look at the Furl metro in the next few days in their private showroom. Chair bed with 20 inch mattress!
£2000 though which is insane but bet it's incredibly comfortable!
