I have sheer linen curtains and a double curtain rod. I have a bit of a dilemma. Before I start, I can't fix anything to the windows as they are new and it would void the warranty.
My curtain needs some kind of blackout material. At the moment, the linen curtains are see through at night. I'm trying to work out how to do three things: 1. Keep the sheer linen 2. Have a voile as there is a pavement where people can see in so it's needs something during the day 3. Make sure people can't see in at night.
Options I've been thinking about are:
- Some kind of bizarre solution where the second rod is used for a voile panel for during the day, which is then pushed to one side at night and a black out panel goes over the window. I'm wondering if this would look odd.
- Tension rod in the window recess has a voile panel. Second rod has black out panel.
- Scrap the linen curtains and get linen blackout curtains and have a voile on the second rod.
- Venetian blind put on the second rod or inside the window recess with a rod. Might look weird with the voile over it.
- Perhaps one of those sheets of privacy vinyl that goes on the glass meaning I don't need a voile.
