Can we hide the tv?

DP wants to keep the tv we currently have in the bedroom. I would like it out of sight. We have limited space and a limited budget.

I'm not keen on the tv beds, they look really bulky.

I have seen some nice pictures of boxes, where the tv is hidden when not in use, but rises up when you want to watch it. Unfortunately, the only ones I can find on the internet seem to be from bespoke, made-to-order furniture companies.

Our budget is more 'Argos flatpack' than 'luxury custom made'. Does anyone know where I could buy a suitable piece of furniture at a sensible price?

We had 2 alcoves either side of a chimney breast in our first house, so got a joiner to fit built in wardrobes across the whole wall, with sliding doors, so the tv went on the narrow bit where the chimney was, and the shelves housed all my 'dressing table' stuff too so was all easily hidden.

We have just bought a Samsung Frame TV for exactly that reason ! Looks like art when not in use

You could get a pole and hang some material over it. A much cheaper alternative. And more decorative than a wooden box.

We had a big ikea photo frame with a world map (was actually a sheet of nice wrapping paper) the ones with Perspex not glass, in case it dropped, and hung it on the tv when not in use. Bit of a budget solution but it was nice that the tv wasn't the focal point in the room

yep hairy, and my TV is black and everything else cream and so forth, so it really is like a black hole in the room when its off.

Mirror tv is the answer
