Hello all!
The roller blind currently in the bathroom needs replacing. It’s been cut to size and looks tatty along the edges.
I don’t want to spend a fortune on one.
With the plastic brackets it’s 78cm wide or just the actual material is 75cm wide.
How do I go about buying a new one please? Do I just use the plastic brackets already in and purchase the blind only? I prefer the slatted ones but it’s tiles on the walls so I’d struggle attaching it.
This ones been cut to size, are they all like that, as in I but I standard width and I have to cut it myself?
Sorry to sound daft!

Hoping someone can help please! I’ve looked st the cut to size ones but they’re attached at the top to a metal bar meaning I can’t kit it as the metal bar is too wide?!

You can buy a roller blind and cut it to size. I think it’s likely it would fit existing brackets but not guaranteed. An alternative roller blind would be using someone like Blinds2go who will make one from your measurements.

Final alternative is to make one yourself, you can use fabric of your choice stiffened with fabric stiffener.

If you prefer a Venetian you might be able to fix a painted wooden batten to wall using drill bit for ceramic tiles and then fix the brackets to the batten.

Thank you for your advice! I looked at the cut to size ones but the bar at the top that the blind is attached to is metal so I can’t cut it. I need it to fit inside the recess.
I might just bite the bullet and get one made. I’m not handy enough to make one myself! 😳

If you get one made, you can register on www.blinds-uk.net/ and then put your order in on Sunday. They seem to always offer 15% off if you order on a Sunday.

The only downside I've found is that you need to be in for deliveries. Also you send any queries via email/their online page - you can't pick the phone up. I've worked round these things eventually because they are cheap(!) but it's an irritation you should know about.

Thank you @beargrass Smile I’ll have a nosey on that site. I’m just worried in case I receive and it’s the wrong measurement. I’ll email them first though for advice

They are easy to cut to side with a metal hacksaw that are pretty inexpensive. It will just be easier to get one made to measure though.

I've used blindstogo a couple of times. It's easy as they show you where to measure and the sizing has always been perfect. They're not much more expensive than ready made ones that need trimming. Trimmed blinds very quickly look tatty at the edges especially in a bathroom. It's worth spending a little bit more.
You can fit slatted blinds on tiles, just watch a YouTube video to see how to drill into tile.
