How to get that "Spa Scent" for diffuser?

I have a mister/diffuser and have been trying various combinations of essential oils to recreate that glorious spa scent - lemongrass, lavendar and Ylang Ylang gets me close but it's missing something! I've googled without success - has anyone come up with a particularly gorgeous combo of oils that they would like to share?

I make myself a lovely frangipani and orange blossom blend

Kyvia · 22/09/2019 15:37

& pomegranate

Lavender (4 drops), geranium (2/3 drops) & lemon (1 drop) smells like a spa 🥰

I'm thinking of buying a diffuser. Any advice on which one? Thanks

Juanmorebeer · 24/09/2019 23:26

lavender rose and geranium

I get mine from Neal's Yard, but I think I am nose blind now as I barely notice it.

I've just bought these from Waitrose

Oh regarding a diffuser, I have a cheap basic one from Amazon but have recently bought this one
It's huge and you can use it with or without music and lights

Where did you buy the oils from and is it just trials and error the ratios?

mummygummybear · 27/09/2019 00:40

For those looking for a diffuser, I have a few of these from amazon and they are brilliant, really easy to use and maintain: www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B012EW5YCK/ref=ppx_od_dt_b_asin_title_s00?psc=1&tag=mumsnetforu03-21&ie=UTF8

Also second the combination of lavender/geranium/lemon in the amount stated because its wonderfully fresh and invigorating and visitors always compliment and ask what it is.

LittleWingSoul · 29/09/2019 12:53

Ylang Ylang as a base, then cedarwood, then a few drops of lemon or verbena. Smells sooooo good!!!

Whoopstheregomyinsides · 30/09/2019 21:41

I’m trying some of these. Was going to say orange, lavender and geranium myself so I’m glad to be close to others but the cedar wood sounds great too

LovesNettles · 02/11/2019 00:54

Geranium must be the element I'm missing - I have all the others so will prefer some of that to try the above combos - thanks everyone Smile

M&S "Calm" is very nice if you want to buy something Wardrobe. Its got a nice relaxing spa scent - nothing grating.

Once mine runs out - I have two - I might make my own, its much cheaper. Though God knows how Grin.

manteray · 02/11/2019 14:05

Does anyone know how to make them.

I wanted to once. But the recipe included alcohol as well as the aromatherapy oils. I have plenty of oils.

Anyone tried this? was it complicated "recipe"

TheClitterati · 02/11/2019 19:26

Ylang ylang & geranium. Occasionally adding patouli or lavender.

Also Neals Yard Women's essence blend is gorgeous.

TheClitterati · 02/11/2019 19:27

Geranium is a fab essential oil.

FredaFox · 02/11/2019 19:32

I had one of these for my birthday www.neomorganics.com/collections/wellbeing-pod?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI-oGFwaHM5QIVi7TtCh2wzgOSEAAYASAAEgKDr_D_BwE
Still using the oil it came right but open to making my own so reading here with interest, where’s the best place to buy essential oils? I’ve only ever bought lavender or teatree!

TheClitterati · 02/11/2019 19:39

Health food shops usually stock them. Muji - where I got my diffuser.

Big Green Smile - online shop.

I like this place:

FusionChefGeoff · 02/11/2019 19:46

Bergamot is my magic ingredient.

I usually do 8 bergamot, 4 lavender, 4 lemongrass and 1 or 2 lemon.

Woodlandwitch · 02/11/2019 19:49

Lemongrass is typical spa

UrbanMage · 02/11/2019 19:53

I like lavender, sandalwood and mint as a relaxing blend. I often use it at night.

Or those with mandarin and rosemary added as well makes a nice blend, but not "spa" like.
