What do you do with cushions from garden furniture in autumn/winter?

We bought quite an expensive rattan corner sofa casual dining set with water resistant cushions this year just not sure what to do with cushions when the weather turns? Never had furniture like this before. We've been storing them in one of those large plastic box things with doors at the front and a hinged lid when it rains but can we leave them in it all winter? Don't want to get them out next spring to find them ruined! We don't really have space for them inside. There's loads of them! The rattan itself is fine to be left outside. The manufacturer makes a cover but says it's not intended for winter.

The hinged door box thingy will be fine. We keep our caravanning stuff in one and it stays dry. You could always bag them up too as an extra protection.
Failing that, under the beds? Loft?

Thanks yes was thinking thick plastic as well to be on safe side? Under beds already full and too many cushions anyway. Our loft is manky but that's another story!

We bag ours up in those huge zipped laundry bags you can get like this

I put them in zip up plastic storage bags and keep them in the house in the basement or loft.

I used to keep them outside in a shed but they got cold and I was worried about mould - we live in a very damp place.

There's 15 and they're quite big. Guess I could get 7/8 bags for them. Really can't put them in loft tho. We have cluster fly infestation and it's full of dirt that falls through the roof tiles as they're not lined. It's horrible up there. Been going on at DH for ages that we should do something about it. I am worried they will get damp and mouldy or even mice nesting as we live in a rural area. We've had mice before in the garage and an old conservatory we used to have and even a rat using our garden as a run through!

You need some IKEA dimpla bags and a cat!

You can buy large nylon bags especially for outdoor cushion storage, I’d go with one of those inside the box. Bag for spider proofing and box for weather proofing.

I use these Ikea DIMPA bags

Don't do what I did last winter....put them in storage bags somewhere safe and dry over the winter. Still not located where that somewhere safe is and it's now the end of August!!

We bought a large Allibert storage box from Amazon. Sunbed cushions, bench cushion, towels, parasol and seat cushions all fit. Kept everything dry over the winter and no signs of mould.

I've just seen that you have 15. My solution of putting them behind your house sofa, like we do, might not be practical.

For about 4 years now we've stored ours in the big zipped laundry bags in the loft. Seem to think we bought our bags from ebay. We must have around 12 cushions along with decorative cushions.

I was going to start this exact thread! I think I'm going to bag them up and put them in the garage, but scared of mice etc gnawing on them.

We've also got loads and they're pretty big. Maybe a big plastic box would be good.
