Help me find the Perfect Pink

We are repainting our flat. It's a 12 year old modern style flat with some warehouse conversion type features, in a listed Victorian building. We have low ceilings (though some double height ceilings in some spaces) and not a huge amount of natural light.
I'm thinking something like F&B Cabbage White, but with pink tones instead of blue if that makes sense? I want a very pure pink pink (not greyish, not peachy) but need it quite pale as I think the colour will be amplified quite a lot.
Any suggestions?

Try F&B Great White.....

smellsofelderberries · 17/06/2019 09:56

Gold Great White looks more lavender to me? I do like Middleton Pink but think we need something a little paler.

Calamine?

Or dulux dusted fondant

I was going to suggest Middleton Pink yesterday. My daughter has it in a basement kitchen and it is great. I think you can go too pale and a bit of "colour pop" helps slightly dingy areas.

tomboytown · 17/06/2019 11:16

I’m in love with sulking room pink, but it’s v dark

Fibbke · 17/06/2019 11:17

Nancy's blushes?
I have calamine in the kids bathroom and it is a lovely colour

smellsofelderberries · 17/06/2019 12:39

Tom that dusted fondant is very pretty! Possibly a little on the purple side, but might pick up a tester, thank you. Agree on Sulking Room Pink but I think I'm the light in our space it just wouldn't work ☹️

7 I don't suppose you have any pics of your daughters kitchen? I think I might have to get some Middleton Pink and see how it looks in the light.

Fibbke really need pale as we are going to be working with a very deep blue/green contrast colour for some exposed metal beams and a metal spiral staircase. I do love those colours though!

This is the inspiration pic I'm working off, but husband is worried about that pink being too intense as our ceilings are so low.

I love that really pretty sickly sweet pink, just need it a bit paler!

We have Dusted Fondant in our bedroom, and the light does make it a bit purple-y, OP. Not the kind of pink that's in your inspiration pic. However, it is lovely!

moreismore · 17/06/2019 13:07

Had you considered taking a pink that’s the right tone and just adding white to the tester until it’s the shade you’re after? Then have it colour matched?

moreismore · 17/06/2019 13:09

Or F&B Peignoir?

goldpendant · 17/06/2019 14:19

That colour looks like F&B pink ground.... which isnt pale, but is quite muted.

Sorry
Can't seem to include a picture

beanaseireann · 17/06/2019 18:49

OP the pink in the photo looks very calamine lotion looking on my phone.

thethoughtfox · 17/06/2019 18:56

I think that is Pink Ground like PP said. It's a sophisticated pink with a yellow base.

goldpendant · 17/06/2019 19:06

OP, here's pink ground in DDs room. This is a sunny east facing room.

Hadn't even thought of accounting for room position. The external windows are North East facing but because of where we are in the building we get no direct sun, or if we do it’s only for an hour or two right in the middle of the day.
It’s always had a cool feel with white walls (the light is quite blue, if that makes sense?) and I want to warm the space up, so I guess the undertones in Pink Ground would be better than Middleton Pink on that basis? I want the space to feel warm and homey, not cold. A friend also threw out the suggestion of LG Dorchester Pink so have ordered a sample card of that too.

Thanks for your help everyone!

If you’re on Instagram I saw something about a Q and A with one of the F&B colour consultants. Might be helpful?

tomboytown · 18/06/2019 11:04

Have you discounted the Calamine?

Fibbke · 18/06/2019 11:49

Calamine is lovely. Has a slight lilac tinge. Pink ground looked like elastoplast in my bathroom, it really depends on light with f and b

Spanglybangles · 18/06/2019 19:27

We used F&B Peignoir in DD’s room, it’s gorgeous.

tldr · 18/06/2019 19:33

We used pink ground in our north facing bedroom with cornforth white. It’s a lovely, lovely colour, but it’s definitely pink, not white-with-pink-base.

smellsofelderberries · 21/06/2019 07:46

I've picked up some testers of F&B Pink Ground and Calamine, and a Little Greene Confetti so I'll see how I get on with them! Thanks everyone!

North facing - choose Pink Ground (too peachy in S facing).
South facing - choose Calamine (too purpley in N facing)
Also have a look at Fired Earth and Designers Guild who have some lovely “clean” non murky pale pinks.
