Which wardrobe doors are nicer?

I've just had a large wardrobe built into my bedroom and am trying to decide between 2 types of doors for it. (The doors are vinyl but will be painted, so will hopefully look like wood. There will be four lower doors and four smaller doors above them.) The flat is small and in a period property, and I want the doors to be in keeping with the old building, but not fussy-looking.

These are totally plain with almost square edges. Not sure whether they're nice and simple and neutral, or a bit too modern-looking:

These have a bevelled edge - I can't decide whether that gives them a bit more character and makes them a better fit for a period property, or whether it's fussy-looking and makes them look like that plastic built-in furniture that you can get, which I'm not keen on.

Any thoughts, please?!

I would choose the plain ones, I think the bevelled doors look like a huge fridge. The handles you use will make a difference too, or course - or won't there be any?

Thanks for your reply! I’m glad you think that, as I’ve been starting to think the plain were probably better! There will be handles - I’m thinking probably plain white mushroom knobs to go with the white doors, rather than adding another colour to the scheme with metal or other colour knobs.
