John Lewis leather sofa is half cotton!

Tell me what you think - after several months of failed deliveries and wrong items JL delivered a smaller fabric version of our sofa and forced us to keep it while they sorted out our order - thats another story.
Anyway it was the Findon, the fabric sofa was completely covered meaning the cushions could be turned if marred at any point.
I now have the leather version, albeit damaged and awaiting a replacement. Imagine my horror when I looked under the cushion and saw black cotton backs with JL written all over them. The seat and back cushions are only half leather!
Now considering its the same product as the fabric one, costs several hundred pounds more and the item description makes no mention of the cotton halves I'm pretty annoyed.
But after 5 months of issues I feel worn down. Only last weekend one of their delivery people called me at 6:30am out of the blue. I feel part ignored and part terrorised and now just ripped off.
Anyone here who would expect their £2k+ leather sofa with removable cushions to be half branded cotton?

I have a leather sofa costing about the same with removable cushions; they are not reversible either.

This is pretty normal for a leather sofa. Did you not try it in store first?

Our leather sofa has removable cushions that are half cotton, half leather. It’s almost 30 years old. We’ve the cushions recovered once and that was only a few years ago. Much cheaper to recover half and half.

So, while I think half and half is a thing I also think it should be clear what you are sold.

I’d probably let it go. I’m wary about buying large items from JL now myself. They do tend to get it right in the end but it’s a painful process. They seem to be cutting the wrong corners to save money while whatnpeople use them for is the good service. Once that’s gone there isn’t much point in them.

And I'm assuming it's not half cotton. The leather should go in far enough that the cotton is not visible from the exterior.

thank you all. it's my first time buying leather in the uk - didnt realise this was normal!

It's usual to stop the cushions from slipping.
