Please can I have some help?

DD would like yellows, purples and pinks in her new room when it’s done in a few months.

All I can see on Pinterest is bright, as in sunglasses may be needed Shock

I need them to be muted, pastel or ‘mild’ but really struggle with putting colours together.

If anyone has the time or inclination could they please post a shade of each one that actually compliments the other?

Have you got a B&Q near you that does Valspar colour mixing? They usually have a wall full of 8 million tiny tester cards: I would go and get a TON in muted/pastel shades, plus quite a few in stronger shades, and play around.

I would also think about doing 2 of the 3 colours as the main colours & the third as an accent, so 45% pale pink, 45% lavender, 10% yellow. Or proportions of 60/30/10, rather than equal amounts of each. E.g. walls pink, woodwork purple, accessories yellow (rug, curtains). (my teen bedroom was in the attic, so main walls/sloped ceiling pale pink, alcoves pale green, woodwork lavender. Like Monica's Friends apartment!)

You could also do 2/3 colours as muted/pastel shades & 1/3 of the colours as a strong shade, like this (sorry this is just on my phone – obviously just a dash of the mustard yellow vs mostly pink/purple):

Or, for just a dash of sunglasses...

(These are all off the Dulux website btw, except the neon pink which is Rustoleum. But pick up colour tester cards! Easiest way to play around before getting tester pots.)

crikey - that is a bit of a mix of colours. I would pick a pale one of ONE of them for the walls, either a yellowy cream or a pale lilac type colour. then use the others as accent colours. See if you can find some patterned material which pulls the colours she likes together. you only need maybe 1 cushion to pull all the other accents together as then you can have other blocks of the colours individually. if you can't find a patterned one to use then perhaps make some of the furnishings yourself and have them as blocks of colour and then do a cushion cover or something using bits of the three colours stitched together instead.

Make sure there is white in there somewhere and it will be fresh and lovely.

I think it is important that the yellow is pale and clean - something like this

Perfect! Thankyou, everyone.

DD is 4 which would explain the choice!

It's like primroses and violas, a lovely combination which will be easy to adapt as she grows up. Have a look on the Next website or Laura Ashley (eBay too) for bedlinen and rugs.
