what to use to paint wardrobe?

i have an old wardrobe that was painted white but is now very rough looking. i want to repaint an off-white colour. which type of paint is easiest and best? any recommended brands.products that I should use?

Chalk paint doesn't have to be distressed looking.
Very easy to do

How would the chalk paint be finished? I thought the wax left a distressed look? I'm haven't painted any furniture before so not 100% sure what I'm doing.

Satinwood paint. Or Rustoleum do a satin finish furniture paint. I painted a fire surround and pantry shelves with it - it seems very hard wearing. What kind of paint has been used on the wardrobe already?

I use a gloss roller for a smooth finish and a small brush for detail.

OP, as wowfudge post or chalk paint, you use the wax to protect the paint & stop it chipping/flaking if you wanted distressed look you lightly sand then use the wax.
Aldi do chalk, which I have found really easy to use & gives a really smooth finish, the only drawback is a limited colour range, it’s comes in white,cream,light blue, pale or dark grey, it’s very cheap as well. The
