Home renovation colour schemes help!

When we first had our house a couple of years ago we jumped in and decided the following colour schemes
Kitchen - duck egg and white
Living room - gold/champagne
Hall/stairs/landing - magnolia

Now 2 years on we pretty much hate everything and are hoping to completely change the whole house including knocking through the wall from living room to dining room and change colour schemes from golds/yellows to whites/greys. Starting with the kitchen.

The kitchen units are cream shaker style and we have someone coming in a few weeks to tile (cream tiles, which I now hate but partner said it's too late to change them 😩). I've been looking at dulux almond white to paint the walls but I'm not sure if it's still too yellow. But has to tie in with the cupboards and tiles.

Living room we've decided on greys and whites already. And the hall stairs and landing we still aren't sure how to compliment that to tie in with the whole house either. It's a tradition 60's 3 bed semi.

Someone please help with colour schemes I'm so hopeless 🙈

I’ve just chosen Egyptian cotton and just walnut from Duluth to replace my magnolia walls

They’re lovely warm grey neutrals.

If its not tiled yet, then its not too late to change them.
Go choose some more and take back the first lot, if you can even if it's an exchange or credit note. Or you can sell them on gumtree or ebay. Even Facebook.

If the units are cream then cream tiles will look insipid.
Don't put them up if you don't like them, then they become a super costly mistake.

An off white colour in your hall would look nice, not magnolia, that's usually dingy and too yellow. A white with a hint of grey, blue, green or pink would look nice. Dulux do great whites with a hint of colour.

Take the tiles back.I listened to my DH instead of going with what I really wanted and now spend my time in the bath imagining how the room would look if I'd put my foot down.White tiles look good with cream. You can get small metro ones with a crackle glaze which are lovely.Remember you can probably have your units painted if you dislike the cream.I second Egyptian cotton for a hall and it will compliment greys in other rooms.Polished Pebble is a lovely pale grey but test 1st as can look blueish in some rooms.

Thank you everyone this is really helpful. Well after months of convincing my partner I don't like the tiles, he has finally agreed we can change them lol

I have to disagree that white tiles look good with cream units. They CAN do but it takes a deft hand to use white and cream together.
Take a door off or a drawer out and take it along with you to the tile shop.

We have changed the tile colour from cream to grey and have chosen natural calico for the kitchen. Also have chosen polished pebble for hall stairs and landing after many testers this weekend 🙈
