Panic flooring! Inspire me with your Luxury Vinyl flooring loves and hates

I really need some help with deciding on what type of luxury vinyl flooring to have on our open plan hall, kitchen and dining room. I am completely incapable of choosing and need to know in the next few days.
The kitchen is white gloss and the space runs the entire length of the house and is long and thin. We have a very busy, full muddy house so have chosen LVF as it is so durable. Have you seen some you loved or had some of your own that looks great Or just as usefully really hated. I'm worried it will look really plasticy. All advice very gratefully received :)

Does it have to be vinyl?
I would recommend something that is not one colour or too light but have no experience of LVF.

I think you’ll need longer than a few days, it’s a really big decision.
If the budget can stretch to Karndean I would get a hard copy of their catalogue then order some samples. You can get small samples for free then if you narrow it down can get a full plank of 2 or 3 you like so you can see how they’d look in your space. You can’t choose without seeing samples in your own home.

Please be aware that vinyl flooring can be very unhealthy - it’s full of chemical pollutants. Ceramic tiles are much better for your health and easier to clean than vinyl.

Thank you all. I've read up on some of the health issues so am going to take that into consideration whwn choosing brands (thwy differ). We can't do ceramic as it would be very noisy and cold, and we can't afford underfloor heating. Ordered some samples too. Just struggling with design.

Sorry I’m no help as I’ve got a similar dilemma! But I hadn’t thought much about the indoor air pollution of vinyl tiles.

I’m not keen on tiles as they’re cold under my feet. A quick google has brought up an eco friendly vinyl company in Belgium.

Just seen your last post. Have you found any particular brands that are ‘low emission’?

We are going for polyflor, though it's not down yet. Environmentally they appear very responsible and to take it seriously see the URL: also indoor air quality certificates for lvts. They are about half the price of karndean; we are assured the quality is similar.

Thanks Floatingthroughspace, I’ll have a look

We have polyflor Expona beveline in our kitchen - there's a good % of recycled material in the tiles iirc. Elsewhere in the house we inherited a marble look Amtico which is really scratched and marked and will be replaced when the bathroom is redone. I like the Amtico Decor stuff that looks like traditional Victorian/Edwardian hall tiles and I'm hoping other firms will do something similar as Amtico is overpriced imo.
