Kitchen worktops

Can anyone recommend a kitchen worktop that isn't granite or wood, looks high quality and wears well...and is not too ££? Grin

I'm trying to research and getting lost with all the different options I've never heard of.

Is there such a thing as realistic faux wood that wears well and doesn't chip or stain?

I'm considering (gloss or matt) white or matt grey inframe units. Walls will remain light and floor = wood effect or pale tile effect probably.

Dark worktops might be too much as I want to keep the room quite light and airy. Equally pale worktops won't offer enough contrast. Wood/ imitation seems like a good compromise.

I've had wood before and I don't find the upkeep too bad but if there's a realistic alternative I'm interested Smile

I've been reading through this link. I'll have to take a look at Pinterest and visit some showrooms but I'm interested in your experience/pics Smile

Have you looked in Ikea. They've got a lot on display with a big price range.
