So, I've got an open plan lounge/dining room/kitchen area. It's still a work in progress (not finished painting, etc), but I have deep red/burgundy leather 3-piece suite, and mid oak/painted off white furniture.

The 2 walls in the lounge are cosy grey and mineral stone (both Wilko paints). The other 2 'walls' are full length bifold doors.

The dining area has 1 wall painted earthy hue, which is a pinkish brown (also Wilko), then there's another full length bifold, and it opens onto the kitchen, which has gloss sage/pale green cupboards from Ikea (Kallarp range).

The 3 bifolds are all connected so I think the curtains all need to be the same colour.

The floor is wood effect tiles in a darkish brown.

Any ideas on curtain colour appreciated. I'm drawn to wine/claret colours and have wondered if dark blue (navy) could work.

Thought grey at first, but think it might be too much grey. Colour needs to go with grey walls as well as the pink-brown wall.

Don't know if out matters but the furniture may end up being swapped for a slightly lighter oak finish on top, and the painted legs will be a greenish grey. (Delivery guys damaged the furniture, and they no longer stock it so we can't replace it).

All thoughts welcome Grin

In the photos, there's still a protective film on the kitchen cupboards so that isn't the actual colour. This is the true colour and the replacement furniture would look like this.

I have the whole house to do, and I'm finding it a bit overwhelming at the moment, and no longer trust my judgement or have any confidence in myself.

Hi,

I would go with a grey.
I think there will be too many colours otherwise and it would clash.
If the walls are a grey, I would stick with a curtain colour very similar, this would in essence be the same as painting the wall if there was no window (does that make sense?).

Grey is classic and goes with nearly everything, so by choosing good quality curtains, they could last a very long time, even if you change decor/furniture.

It’s so exciting decorating a new room...this is what we want to do with ours...but it’ll be a few years yet!

Thanks, your thoughts are much appreciatedSmile

This was the colour I was originally going to go with (the grey with the sticker on), but there's so much to do I've kind of lost my way. It's been dragging on for 2 years and my health isn't the greatest, and I've become very indecisive, which isn't great (no motivation either).

I know how you feel as I've had a whole house to decorate following renovation it starts exciting ends awful ( I have chronic anxiety too)
I do like the Grey with the sticker, it's a nice almost pewter grey that neutral and won't show marks from children's fingers. It will tone beautifully too. The sofa is a lovely warm colour and this will go well with that

Thanks Grin. Looks like my original choice may have been the right one, lol.
