Am in the fortunate position of redecorating our whole house but getting myself tied up with colours and ideas as I like so many on Pinterest!
For living room I am thinking grey and yellows.....Any thoughts

i like that idea. you could have light grey walls, darker grey sofas with yellow throws/cushions on.

I have a room in jasmine white mat, with polished pebble and f and b moles breath. I added a tiny splash of moles breath to the polished pebble to slightly darken it. I'm very pleased with the result.

The advantage of that scheme is that it's not too grey and retains light and warmth, whilst not shying away from both light and dark grey. The greys are on woodwork.

was thinking of a creamy lemon colour on the walls with one wall papered in a mustard ish geometric style with grey sofa, grey sideboard, wood floors. or will this be crap? I haven't redecorated like this for a while!

I think that yellow is the hardest colour to get right. I've painted rooms in the past which ended up looking like a banana. Or acid garish. The key thing for my taste is to go for a yellow (either pale or darker) which veers towards the warmer eggy side rather than the green. So jasmine white rather than daffodil white, or if using warmer shades, more towards the ochre. The colours you mention look nice, but I'd recommend tester pots for sure with yellow!

I did once have F and B Sudbury yellow in a large sunny space and loved it. May something like that or F and B Dorset cream ? Or similar shades in Dulux?

If you use a mustard wallpaper, I'd match the tone in that.

I have Mustard Jar by Crown with antique white and grey skirtings etc in my north east facing lounge my floor is washed grey wood, the mustard stops it looking cold

Dulux vanilla sundae is a colour that looks very different in different lights levels /rooms. It looks pale and more a hints of yellow colour in a southfacing room but a north facing or small windowed room it's a really strong garish, yet room darkening yellow. I strongly advise checking out what it looks like on each wall in the room (if you paint a piece of white card you can just bluetac it to different walls of the room to get a feel for it).
