Help! Looking for a perfect Greige!

I'm looking for that most elusive of colours- - grey/beige that's warm but not too beige. East facing room. I have tried:

Dulux Egyptian cotton
Laura Ashley Dove Grey- looks a bit purple
Dulux Polished Pebble- purplish tinge
F&B Skimming Stone- not bad, a bit too beige

Help me find my ideal colour!

French Grey by Little Greene.

Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore.

I second French Grey from Little Greene. We've just painted an east facing room in it and love it.

Dulux pebble shore. We found polished pebble too blue but p shore looks beige but mostly grey in diff lights.

MrsMummyBx · 19/08/2018 22:52

Thank you lovely MNers, I've been tearing my hair out! Didn't even think of Little Greene- do you recommend the mid (lighter shade) or normal (medium shade) of French Grey?

Thank you pumpingRSI I will give pebble shore a go too!

Thank you Luckystars I will also try Benjamin Moore- actually hadn't heard of this paint brand but this colour looks good from google!

I have seen it in loads of rooms and it always looks well. Best of luck x

You could also try Dulux Just Walnut...bit paler than Egyptian cotton....

Justgivemeasoddingname · 19/08/2018 23:31

My Dulux antique satin is 14 years old but you might still find it. I have recently used Dulux crispy crumble and love that.

Crown Sunday School?

MrsMummyBx · 27/08/2018 08:59

Thank you everyone- looks like I need some new testers for your suggestions! I'm going to go bankrupt!!

Unfortunately it's very difficult to get Benjamin Moore in the UK - they seem to only have one stockist (or did last year when I was on a desperate hunt for a pale grey/blue).

wowfudge · 27/08/2018 10:27

Dulux Caramel Latte? I find a lot of paints with grey in them look lilac on the walls in our house - it's to do with the light.

MrsGryllsTheSecond · 27/08/2018 10:29

Dulux chalk blush 3? It’s one you have to get mixed not buy off the shelf. Good luck!

Leostar · 27/08/2018 14:05

Crown smoked glass is pretty identical to little greene french grey and 1/4 of the price

iknowimcoming · 27/08/2018 14:12

F&B shaded white - we've got it in our hall stairs & landing and depending on the light/where you stand it looks green/grey/beige but I love it! Someone recommended it to me and it's nice and neutral without being too wishy washy iyswim. It looks very beige on their online colour chart but no so much irl.

iknowimcoming · 27/08/2018 14:15

Oh and you can get Dulux paint mixed to F&B colours which saves ££ and the paint is better I'm told by our decorators (they don't like using the actual F&B paint)

MulberryPeony · 27/08/2018 18:37

We have a darker shade of the chalk blush but find it a definite grey rather than greige. It is lovely though.

MeMeMeow85 · 28/08/2018 22:41

Perfect greige is Colonnade by Sherwin Williams, but not sure if it’s available in the UK

mariniere · 30/08/2018 00:59

Look no further than french Grey which is commonly available and easily matched.
I prefer the colour itself but do have the light version too- the light is more of a warm pale grey than greige

IStillDrinkCava · 03/09/2018 15:15

Dulux Perfectly taupe sounds like it should be too brown, but in practice it's on the grey end of greige in our house. A bit darker than Egyptian Cotton.
