Small bedroom

Please can you suggest a colour for a single bedroom? The room is south facing and therefore very sunny, although the window isn't enormous (3 x 4ft). My own thought is borrowed light, but I'm really open to suggestions. I don't want grey.
The bedroom is for a student age group DS, and used in holiday periods only, so it might double as a guest room occasionally.

White walls with colour added in the bedding, curtains, rug? Or a warm pale yellow may be nice.

Our kitchen is tiny with a similar aspect and is bright yellow. it is so lovely and warm and inviting but may be a bit much in a bedroom (like being in a custard bowl!)

Thank you. I do love yellow, although I agree it won't work here. I definitely haven't ruled out white or a shade of it.

Very pale sage green maybe? Bright and fresh enough but not actually bright and garish.

I'm currently sorting out a bedroom for DS1 that sounds similar in size and aspect. I'm going for Orchid White (Dulux), which is a very warm pale yellowish cream. We have it in other rooms and it is a good base colour to use different accent colours with.

I did wonder about pale green, Bobblepin. It's hard to find a nice pale but interesting colour.
I'm keen for the room not to look heavy or overdone, like you sometimes see in kids rooms type blue or green.
Does orchid white have peach tones?

No peach undertones. I find it looks slightly different depending on the natural light in the room.

That's good, When, thanks.

Still struggling here.

Pale blues such as F and B borrowed light and pale powder look too blue, presumably because the room is small. By which I mean the shade seems a bit dark. Cabbage white, on the other hand, looks cold.

I don't think yellow or grey off whites would work here.

Any more suggestions would be very welcome.

I would say, sod it, and do plain brilliant white, but I know it would look a bit cold in the winter, as we've had it here before.
