hey, i'm totally new to this as i'm having my first baby so bare with me a little ☺️

been looking to find theme ideas for my DC's nursery, i usually do all of my research and planning on Pinterest but i couldn't find anything. i don't know what i'm having but intend to find out at my next scan so i can have everything ready and done before i'm due, if created some ideas but need more inspiration 💗

(my Pinterest board)

boys:

~ woodland (my current love)
~ nautical
~ space (my DH's fave)

girls:

~ floral & vintage
~ scandinavian with greenery

disclaimer: i know that lots of people don't feel like a theme is necessary and that's fine but i tend to go all out and intend to really commit to doing the most for my baby ☺️

Mmm I always adored Beatrix Potter themed nursery.🧡

I was going to have Beatrix Potter but then found out she was a girl and all the Peter Rabbit stuff is pretty much blue so I opted for a grey & pink 'woodland' theme which has turned into Bambi and Thumper 🙈 it really is gorgeous though, it's my absolute favourite room in the house and very tasteful.

You'll probably find you buy one initial thing and it all stems out from there - ours was the pink lampshade that has deer and leaf silhouettes.

I found loads of stuff on Pinterest though?

I'm having white room, grey carpet, with bright colours and maybe a bit of black!

Very Pinterest, have lots of art prints bought already and I like vintage fabrics so will have lots of quirky vintage pieces.

I don't do the whole pink for a girl blue for a boy thing, and I'm not finding out ( but have with all my others) so this way it doesn't matter.

For my first, pre Pinterest baby: hippie vibe with multicolours and tie dye bed sheets, and a big handmade bookcase painted in a bright tarragon shade, displaying lots of books and colourful trinkets

Second baby: Cot and tallboy chest of drawers painted in a soft grey eggshell, blue and white star bedding from zara, giant 'Le Petit Prince' wall sticker and a white ornate mirror over the chest of drawers.

Third baby: Knobs on tallboy swapped for. Gilt edged blue agate drawer pulls, dusty pink muslin bedding from Número 74, and a navy and tiny gold star quilt from nobodinoz. Mustard yellow lampshades and dusty pink blind.

We didn’t find out with either children - first was a girl and 2nd a boy - went gender neutral and haven’t had to redecorate between.
Grey with splashes of bright yellow - vague bird theme. It looked lovely with some pale pink (from dds presents) and also with turquoise blue (ds has been crocheted a fab blanket)

For my dd we did grey walls, grey herdwick sheep skin rug, pink accessories with a few bits of Beatrix Potter as I'm from The Lake District. I wanted the walls suitable for a boy or girl incase we have another baby in the future that will use the nursery.

We did woodland/enchanted forest for DS (would have done the same if he was a DD)...he is still in our bed at 2 and we are moving soon Grin

My advice would be to make anything 'babyish' easily removable just in case they don't end up sleeping there 'till their older.

DSs big boy room in the new flat will be transport themed.

*they're tsk.

Giant wall stickers are very eye-catching but easy to change up.
