Any ideas for an accent colour with slipper satin farrow and ball?

I'm painting my dining room in slipper satin and want a stronger colour for the door and fireplace alcove. I looked on the website but the colour suggestions were for lighter shades. I wondered about stiffkey blue or inchrya but I'm not sure if they would work. Is there a bolder or stronger accent colour that would look good together?

Hmm I was wondering about inchyra blue too?

Also I have a dark dining room. It faces east but has no direct windows as it's a middle room. There are original victorian black and red tiles on the floor. Do you think clunch could work instead of slipper satin?

How does slipper satin look in your room, are the undertones cream, pink or green?

Have you got a f&b chart to hand, if so the colours are grouped in vertical lines. So slipper satin co ordinates/has the same tones as:

Lime white
Off white
Old white
Light gray
Mouses back

Don't be influenced by the names (they're not white or gray! Silly marketing mistake by f&b imo!)

I personally see this colour group as neutral earthy tones. No yellow or red undertones. I see greeny & brown undertones, but that is just my opinion. Personally I think old white & light gray are gorgeous with SS & very timeless.

Obviously this doesn't mean you can't use other colours, slipper satin is neutral so should go with a lot. It depends how it 'reads' in your room.

Oh the joy of paint!

Clunch is more of a sandy beigey tone compared to Slipper Satin.

You could be really brave and go with a darker wall such as a navy or dark grey, with light woodwork and light finishes. The experts say don't try to defeat a dark room, paint it dark and moody.

What colour is your dining table, other furnishings?

Im now thinking slipper satin reads too grey/ green in this room. Particularly in the evenings. I'm wondering about clunch too. I have a tester but just not sure what colour it is and whether it works! Is it a yellow base? Or does it have green undertones too? I'm not so keen on green in this room. The table is made from reclaimed wood and the look is quite a rustic one. Have you used clunch in a darker room?

I am also considering little greene pale clay but not sure if it's too pale.

Slipper Satin has a green undertone. I have it in a bright room where it looks very neutral. Then in a dark room it looks more green. I don’t see it as a grey at all.

Clunch is more of a browny beigey undertone (but still very neutral) Slightly Warmer.

What colour are you looking for?

I'm looking for a colour that will help lighten and warm up a room but I'm not keen on bright yellows (unhelpful I know!). I would like a chalky sort of look.

I know this is an old thread but Hague blue looks lovely with slipper satin. Interior designer told me and he’s right I love it

I know this is an old post but commenting incase it helps anyone else this is from the colour techs at farrow and ball “Slipper Satin is quite a complex colour I love it in the right room. It contains a slight red pigment which can give a pinky undertone. However, Slipper Satin also has other colour pigments including yellow to give the slight grey-green tone characteristic of the Traditional Neutral group Slipper Satin is included in. Depending on the light Slipper Satin can therefore look pinker, greener, greyer, or creamier.”
