Kitchen question - anyone else tackled this problem?

Evening all
I'm trying to work out what to do about a splashback / tiled area between worktop and cabinets.
I'm interested in white tiles, or a white splashback that runs all around the kitchen.

But - I have a bunch of poorly placed sockets, uneven heights and basically a ton of annoying - and therefore expensive - "cut outs".

Has anyone else had this? what did you do?

I don't want to just give up and leave it, but I fear the cost is going to skyrocket if it either all needs to be moved (i.e. sockets rewired) or either tiles or splashback cut out around carefully.

we just put the splashback over the sink and hobs. it works fine

I don’t think getting sockets moved is massively expensive tbh, if that makes it easier I’d just get them moved to a better spot

I have an upstand of the counter top that goes up about 6 inches all along, then steel splashback behind the cooker, and the rest of the walls is just painted.
Looks fine a few years on.

I'm going to get a fitter round this week and see what he thinks about moving sockets.

Would a glass splashback work? They template it and fit around sockets etc and you can have whatever colour back you want - inc glitter!!

I've got a turquoise metro brick, I got the tiller to tile it around 6 different plug sockets, under cupboards, around boxing and behind the cooker where it does from surface height to extractor fan.

We have a long run of kitchen units 3.5m and when we looked at splashbacks, it would have included a join in the glass.

For that reason we left the area painted in a ceramic matt paint. It has been in place for a year and everything just wipes off with a damp multi-fibre cloth, tomato sauce, oil drops, everything.

Upstands and painted wall...use a stainless steel splashback on the cooker. It looks lovely and you are not stuck with the same colour scheme for years.
