Help needed..anyone got recent experience of F and B eggshell?

I am just about to do a refurb of my bedroom and have chosen F and B colours for the walls and to repaint my very old furniture. I'm not worried about the walls, know I may have to do 3 coats!

However my furniture is currently painted in a F and B oil eggshell from about 12 years ago. I have rubbed it all down and washed with sugar soap and was just about to paint with the F and B primer/undercoat this morning when I thought I'd do a quick google to see if there were any tips on how to get the best finish with the water based eggshell.
Fell into decorating forum hell where dozens of professionals as well as diy folk are complaining about it, mostly that it doesn't dry properly and 2 - 3 days later they are still unable to do 2nd coat and as they can't sand it are having to use paint stripper to start again!.
This has really put me off so I wondered if any of you have recent experience or know whether I can get Hardwick White or Old White in a Little Greene colour?
Thanks

We have recently upcycled/ painted our bathroom cabinets - I use a specific painter for the woodwork as she's very good and she does Zinnser 123 Plus as the primer and then Little Greene Eggshell which is acrylic called Intelligent Eggshell. We are really happy with it. I've also been doing a few smaller projects and I don't see any issue with the drying time and I chose Little greene mainly as I like the grey paint colours More than F&B.

Hope that helps.

I've just finished (a few days ago) painting a whole load of windows with F and B eggshell and I had no problems whatsoever. The coverage was great, and it definitely dried quickly because I had to close some windows and then open them the next day for the second coat and there was no stickiness, and no marks on the windows

Thank you both, and thanks faustina, good to hear a positive story! I think I'll just brave it as I can't face choosing colours again and I've spent the equivalent a great meal out in tester pots!

Have just painted some doors with f&b elephants breath. No problems whatsoever.

I wonder if this article in the Telegraph solves the mystery? It's dated from last September and it says the paint has been tweaked since, which might be why we've had no problems recently:

All our woodwork was in the old style and has since been painted in the water based one
No problems at all plus the brushes are easier to clean!

Our decorator didn't want to use their emulsion but said their eggshell was good.

Rub down, use their own primer, be generous with the paint, work quickly - those are my tips. It seems to self-level and smooth itself out, before going tacky within a few minutes. Decorators don’t like it because it’s so different to use than the traditional oil based paint they’ve trained with /been using for years, but I’ve always hated the faff of cleaning up after oil based paint so much prefer this. I have painted almost all the woodwork in my house in f&b eggshell over the last two years and have had no problems.
