Short double bed recommendations please?

In the middle of redecorating bedrooms/ moving kids rooms around, and have just realised DD1's bed won't fit where I need it to.

I'd like her to have a small double bed, or a normal double.
Width isn't a problem, but can't seem to find a wood or metal frame bed that fits lengthwise- they're all 195 to 206cm long.

Gap is 191cm long, so can just squeeze a fabric divan bed in (190cm long), but I'd prefer a frame bed to fully utilise storage space underneath with underbed toy storage boxes. Not bothered about headboard- just literally a flat frame base to put mattress on?

I've found some pine beds online that are "shorty" double or small double, but they're 175cm long with a 160cm mattress- seems a shame to lose that 30cm of mattress length when I know it'll fit if I bought a divan.

Any suggestions please?

I'd looked at Ottoman beds as I'd love the side view being nice and neat/ no colourful toy boxes showing, but was unsure if DD1 (nearly 8) will trap her fingers in the mechanism.
Also, some of the toys I need to store under the bed are heavy (sylvanians/ Schleich zoo etc), so would need us to lift out or put away boxes for her every time, rather than her being able to simply slide a box in and out from the side of the bed whenever she wants it.
Although saying that- it'd give her less opportunity to quickly make a massive mess in her room haha.

I cut down a basic wooden frame for DS' room. It was a self build type of thing so I cut the side bars to the desired length and made the top flat so the mattress rested across everything, including the tops of the uprights. Then attached a headboard to the wall.

That was my next plan lol, but I'm not sure how to make the top flat so the mattress rests on top of everything- how did you do it?
All the wooden frames I've found have a fairly deep recess for the mattress, so simply laying MDF/ plywood across the top would require several supports underneath plywood but on top of slats, and I'm not sure if that will place too much pressure in those areas/ cause slats to break eventually?

not quite what I used but essentially similar in principle: I used an old bunk we had but this is of a similar construction. You'll need to cut a bit off the long side pieces and redrill the pilot holes for the big bolt. Then when you put the bed together put the sides on upside down. This will give you a shelf to screw the slats to near the top rather than dropping the mattress into a dip.
