Had a look at the usual suspects but can't find anything that looks worth the money!

Looking for extending table 6 to 8

Just wanted to say that we need to look again after having a bad experience with Oak Furniture Land. I've seen a lot of people recommend it, but they delivered our set late, they sent the wrong cushions with the chairs, and the table was damaged in several places. We considered asking for a replacement but it looked like a quality issue where the damage would recur. We kept trying to talk ourselves into thinking it wasn't that bad, since it was an ordeal to get it and assemble it. But in the end it went back and I was so disappointed I haven't even started shopping for a new table.

We had a good experience with Oakland but obviously not everyone does! Neighbour really rates her John Lewis table.

Check out The Good Shelf Company. They are making our extending table our specific measurements and finish, still cheaper than Next, John Lewis Laura Ashley. Top service and very friendly.

Neptune? Depends what style you're looking for though.

What style and price bracket are you after?

Ikea does some quality extendable table out of solid wood that are excellent value for money.. Oka and Loaf do some nice ones as well (but cost a few times more).

Need to know the style? If modern, have a look at Danetti.
