Identify a paint

Can anyone recommend a paint similar to the one
Here in picture 7? A chalky white with a very very slight hint of grey?

I'm looking for a paint for my internal hallway - I want white with a hint of grey, not a grey. No yellow-cream shades. I previously posted about greige and was recommended Egyptian cotton amongst other helpful suggestions but they are just too dark when I did samples. So I'm thinking something like the picture would be fairly light. I like Timeless elsewhere but feel like it lacks depth for a very large hallway and stairs area

Many thanks

Might be worth asking a decent independent paint shop to mix you up something to that spec?

I've done that before when I had a colour in mind that didn't appear to be available and it worked well. You could mix up your own either, but that's much trickier to get consistent, particularly if you have a large area to cover.

Maybe F&B Blackened (Google images rather than the f&b website)?

legolammb · 23/01/2018 23:01

Thanks for the recommendation name - Blackened looks like it might be slightly blue-tinged. The hallway has no window so colours come up a bit dark

Moonlight - that's definitely something to consider, I feel like I've been looking for a while. If a professional decorator is doing the work, do we tell them what we want and get them to supply the paint?

Fairly much, it's a little bit faffier for them, but our painter didn't have an issue with it. He was very, very careful to point out that the sample could differ from the main paint though even with having the mixing ratios(?)
written down once we approved (it didn't, but I did understand his nervousness about arranging it).

I've used Farrow and Ball's Cornforth White which is a lovely very pale but warm grey. Looks different depending on the light but often looks like an off white. Beautiful colour.

HowDoIGetOffTheBus · 24/01/2018 00:11

Try Craig & Rose Chalky White. Lovely paint.

BringMeTea · 25/01/2018 20:31

We are about to paint our hall, stairs, landings in Little Greene French Grey Pale. Looks pretty similar to me.

Look at Johnston’s China clay, lighter than Egyptian cotton. I chose it for my living room last year and love it

RatRolyPoly · 26/01/2018 19:04

I came to say Blackened. We have Cornforth White in our kitchen and I disagree with a pp; you wouldn't for a second think it was off-white in our room, it is most definitely a pale grey.

BringMeTea · 31/01/2018 18:39

How did you get on @legolammb?

Ketzele · 31/01/2018 19:30

I think it's Farrow and Ball Strong White, or possibly Ammonite. Cornforth white is darker; Blackened is bluer.

Viviene · 01/02/2018 18:40

I came on here to say Little Greene French Grey Pale

MsJuniper · 01/02/2018 18:45

I used Johnson's Whisp recently which is white with a hint of grey.

grasspigeons · 01/02/2018 18:48

I'd suggest Ammonite (F&B)

WoodhouseMoor · 06/02/2018 09:38

Cornflower - Hicks & Weatherburn, pure, pale grey. They'll adjust things too if you can describe what you want. Great little paint shop/manufacturer near us but they ship FOC

I would guess it's farrow and ball ammonite but a colour can look completely different in photos.

treeofhearts · 07/02/2018 22:20

It's not Ammonite. That's darker and a touch bluer. I reckon White Mist tbh. Flux colour. Or possibly Polished Pebble. Hard to tell in a photo.

treeofhearts · 07/02/2018 22:21

Dulux not Flux!

MamaDuckling · 09/02/2018 23:03

Strong White

outsetisland · 10/02/2018 08:19

My house is painted in a similar colour. A Crown trade paint called Ash.

bassidge · 10/02/2018 08:27

Try farrow and ball skimming stone. A definite griege
