Where to buy nice pictures / prints?

I'm really struggling to find some nice pictures / prints. I'm looking to spend about £100 to £1k per picture and need various for my house. Any recommendations? Ideally somewhere online but otherwise London. thanks!

Wayfair have some FAB arty canvasses of all sorts. Not where I would normally go for art, but for HUGE things they are great.
Plus, DH s favourite present this Christmas was some photos I had made into canvasses by Photobox...surprisingly wonderful

We buy ours online.

I've had some good stuff from Print Club London.

They also have one in Hampstead. Lots and lots of choice, starting around £100 - we've bought nice things from them before.

Have a look at your local auction or on the saleroom.com.

Well below budget but if you like Scandi have a look at Desenio.

thanks for the suggestions. Some great stuff on Print club.

I've tried the affordable art fair, and definitely rated it, but ideally wanting something before the next fair! (I know there is the London contemporary art fair coming up, so my try that)

I've recently found prints online at:
www.wolfandbadger.com
www.kingandmcgaw.com

Also look at the online shops of art galleries such as Tate or Baltic as they often have limited edition prints.

Castle Galleries are fantastic. If you go in store they will sit down with you and really listen to your preferences and size specifications etc.
They have a huge selection - I mean huge - from originals, limited editions etc.
They have a sale on at the minute. Just bought this mixed media canvas for our dining room reduced from £995 to £445.
It's an original. We can try it insitu when it comes and will get full deposit back if it doesn't work.
We have bought most of our art from Castle Galleries- can't recommend them enough.

I'm not sure if you like this kind of thing but worth a look.

Surface View do nice quality prints and wall art if you're not looking for original stuff.

CharlieandLolaCat · 02/01/2018 17:08

Try www.degreeart.com I bought some beautiful stuff from there when I did my house up and you never know you might buy in to the next big thing!

You can buy from the Affordable Art Fair website!

affordableartfair.com/art

I bought recently and service was very good etc. so you don't have to wait til the fair if you don't have time (although I like seeing the work IRL so will probs still go!)

Artfinder has a huge range of work (Disclaimer: I'm a printmaker & I sell on there)

Efnisien · 04/01/2018 14:27

I'm an artist, perhaps look locally to support artists in your community?

Plumpcious · 04/01/2018 14:30

Bankside Gallery near Tate Modern if you want to visit somewhere in person. They have various exhibitions throughout the year (watercolour and printmaking) from which you can buy works and they also have some prints in stock all the time.

bettys · 04/01/2018 14:39

Always good to buy direct from the artist. If it's prints you're after a couple of London-based printmakers groups are:
Wednesday Printmakers and
Richmond Printmakers

Hello, I Highly recommend checking www.atelierkristel.com, she is a UAE based award winning contemporary artist selling prints that fit your budget. Check out her online shop: www.atelierkritel.com/buy-contemporary-paintings

PurBal · 24/06/2021 13:15

I tend to buy limited edition prints (or originals where I can) from local artists.

HollowTalk · 24/06/2021 13:19

What sort of thing do you like? What would you say your favourite artwork was?

Have you looked at the museums and Tate Gallery online? What about the Royal Academy of Art?

Tightwad2020 · 24/06/2021 20:32

Greenwich Printmakers have a wide selection of artists, and you can follow up individual artists whose prints you like for paintings/drawings. The gallery/association has exhibited at the Barbican, so have their respectable art world chops.

I shall be following up some of these suggestions on this thread, too.
