I've just discovered Houzz and am trying to save pics of things I like the look of but I wondered if there was any other similar websites/apps that people use to get ideas?

I use Pinterest and I really like a Facebook group called housfolk. Mid century and Scandi mainly but members real homes so not overly sryled.I have a subscription to Ideal Home and buy Living etc once in a while too.

Pinterest is really easy to use. I have boards labelled everything from ‘stair carpet’ to ‘garden lights’....

I just browse and tag until I get a clearer idea of what I want each area to look like....

I do use pinterest sporadically but I wonder if I'm not good at searching it properly.

I picked up a kitchen mag in the newsagents last week and it was £10! Would rather pick up tips for free...

Hi I sometimes buy home magazines, but the cheap ones home style & your home are about two pounds, are quite useful & much cheaper than big brands ones.

Try www.apartmenttherapy.com/ and www.designsponge.com/. I have far too many bookmarked.

peppykoala · 16/11/2017 20:59

Apartment Therapy as mentioned above, & desiretoinspire.

Also Pinterest and magazines (I have a scrapbook!) - mostly Elle Deco, Living Etc & a French one called Maison Creative.

More recently thought lots of Instagram - @pinkhouseliving is my favourite, I'm loving seeing her do her new house (also a blog but I generally follow more on Insta) - check out #interiorinspo as a start.

Also - with Pinterest you can install a button that makes it easy to pin from other websites, which is super useful when you want to save things you might actually buy rather than just look nice.

Having a nose on Rightmove in certain areas throws up so good ideas Grin

I also have mag subscriptions. It’s only about £25 per year. I love the stuff so like them whether I’m working on something or not. But if you’re about to do a project then that’s unlikely to make sense for you.

Elle Decoration.

I think you can pick up some good ideas from home magazines. Ideal Home is quite good some months and Period Homes and Interiors is nice even if you've not got a period home. My favourite is 25 beautiful homes as lots of pictures and ideas.
