Painted kitchens- F&B or Johnstones?

We are right in the middle of having our new kitchen installed. Its tulipwood from Handmade Kitchens of Christchurch. Having last minute dilemma over what paint to use. But big dilemma is that F&B is soooo expensive and wondering whether to just use Johnstones matched to the F&B colour. Anyone got experience of either and comments on finish and durability pls??

I reckon you will always regret not going for f&b just do it, it's already cost a small fortune anyway! Smile

Our hand painted kitchen by Tom Howley was painted using Dulux Calico 8/9 years ago and still looks great as you can see from the photo. Tom Howley wouldn't have used Dulux if it wasn't good. Similarly, your kitchen company should be able to advise on paint brand.

We had a Higham kitchen fitted a couple of years ago. Absolutely pristine still

when deciding on colour they advised Little Green or Dulux. Had so many issues with F&B quality they no longer recommend them and will colour match instead.

Still have F&B on most of our walls though Blush

Should add it was hand painted kitchen units we chose and went with Little Green

We have F&B on all our walls, but having twice done our kitchen units in it we vowed never again. Our latest kitchen is colour matched (Dulux I think).

I chose a F&B paint colour for my painted kitchen 9 years ago, they mixed it up in a Dulux paint (might not have been Dulux as I cannot find a record of that but it definitely wasn't F&B which I had used to paint other furniture in the room). You cannot tell the difference in colour and mostly the painted doors have held up but I would not have a painted shaker door again as the paint has flaked on the bottom ledge and it's just really hard to clean.

I'm amazed it's flaked! Wonder if it was prepped properly. Our 3 girls roller skate into our kitchen doors and are fine! The doors not the girls. I thought the bonus painted units is you just paint over any chips cruciatus?

I had wooden floors painted in F&B and they were indestructible and stayed pristine for years ( including stairs). I'm very happy with Little Green too (used on walls, render, woodwork etc). Dulux I wouldn't use again as I've had bad experience with quality and colours being very inconsistent.
