Best paint for wood - don't want brush marks !

I hate doing wood work (skirting boards, doors). I need a paint that won't leave brush marks but is washable.

Or am I doing it wrong using a brush ? Acrylic with a brush was awful, even watered down.

Might be your technique with the brush, if it's just skirting boards. Crown non-drip satin gives a decent finish with a brush (though it doesn't stay nice - stains easily and gets sticky when handled) but I find it best with a 1/2" brush for small widths and an angled artist's brush for edging.

For large areas, a smooth sponge roller gives the best finish.

The standard brushes I use are the no bristle loss ones, btw - nice and stiff so cope with the sticky texture of the paint. Harris are nice, B&Q own are cheaper and just as nice, if you don't mind a less comfortable handle.

I'm getting on well with some white floor paint from b & q. Runny so need to avoid drips and runs, but goes on smooth and easy clean.

Thank you. I've got a new set of acrylic b&q own brand brushes - thankfully they don't shed (yet).

I've not tried a roller yet but for the large area I will. For the skirting boards I assume I'll need two bridges but I'm wondering if paint pads would work ?

I need to get a can of something colour matched to the omnipresent Timeless - not even sure that's possible ??
