Roman blinds online

Does anyone have any experience buying roman blinds online in the UK?

I'm a little nervous- have ordered swatches from various companies but didn't like any of the fabrics so trying again with that, but am now worrying that the end result will look bad... Don't think we can afford to get them made by someone though (in terms of time or money)- very tight budget!

(I'll be honest, I also have no idea what to aim for in terms of fabric type, colour scheme, patterned vs plain, etc etc... am feeling utterly swamped by such a straightforward task!)

Just be aware there are strict rules now about roman blinds and cords and how high they have to be. John Lewis very hot on it. Get them
to explain. I tried to order one there last weekend and they wouldn't sell me one. Am having to go to s different John Lewis next weekend and basically lie to them
About measurements. It does mean I can't get JL to install. I will have to do it myself. It's going in my dons bedroom. He is 6 foot 2. I think he will be safe Smile

Blinds to go.

Thanks all- was not aware of that wheresmyphone !

I was admiring the ones in JL dreamily but sadly I don't think we can justify stretching the budget. Maybe just one... they had some beautiful fabrics!

I have 2 large roman blinds from Blinds 2 Go, DH fitted them, it looked pretty easy to do. I ordered loads of swatches first, I'm happy with the blinds and would use them again.

I've used blinds2go (and their sister company curtains2go) several times and can't fault them.

I've use daily blinds to go and Wilson blinds - both equally good

Not had a problem installing them either

Measure a few times and get another adult to measure/compare

Seconds the use of Blinds2go. Laura Ashley expensive but good too.

I have 2 roman blinds from blinds2go after reading recommendations on here, I am very pleased with them.

Thanks so much all- blinds to go are one of the ones I've ordered more samples from so think I might go with them if they turn out nice fabrics! :)

There was a blind from BlindsToGo in a cottage we go to. I gave it the once over (I am a seamstress by trade) and was very impressed.

I recently made a Roman for my DS and bought a Pacer Cassette kit. The cord does have to be a certain height off the ground to meet the safety requierments but you can add extra chain later on

Oldraver · 09/08/2017 14:56

I thought I would post this in case it helps anyone (I dont work for them honest)

GB Interiors will cut you blind rail to whatever size you want, if you dont wnat to do it yourself

perper · 11/08/2017 13:17

Thank you, that's very helpful!

I've used Blinds2go recently, they had a promotion where the upgrades were free - black out lining and nice chain. They hang beautifully, very well made and one very large (kitchen) and one small (utility) only cost £170 in total. I paid four times that price for my upstairs blinds from a local company and they don't hang nearly as well and the material is crap.
